MoneyFinder
Privacy Policy
Grant White trading as MoneyFinder (MoneyFinder, we, us or our) respects privacy and is committed to handling personal information responsibly. This policy explains how we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information when people visit our website, request a walkthrough, use the MoneyFinder platform or communicate with us.
MoneyFinder follows the privacy practices described in this policy. Where the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and Australian Privacy Principles apply to us, we will comply with them. Nothing in this policy is intended to state that legislation applies where it does not.
1. Who this policy covers
This policy covers personal information handled by MoneyFinder. Customer firms also control information they upload about their own clients and contacts. Those firms are responsible for their collection notices, permissions and lawful use of that information. MoneyFinder processes it to provide the service and in accordance with the customer agreement.
2. Information we collect
The information we collect depends on how a person interacts with us.
- Account and business information, such as name, work email address, organisation, role, login and account settings.
- Walkthrough and support information, including enquiries, messages, correspondence and support history.
- Customer content entered into the platform, including business-client contact details, meeting notes and objectives, tasks, opportunities and outcomes.
- Technical and usage information reasonably needed to operate, secure and improve the service, such as IP address, device/browser data, timestamps, authentication events and diagnostic records.
- Billing and subscription records. If a payment provider is introduced, payment-card details should be collected directly by that provider and not stored by MoneyFinder unless expressly stated in an updated policy.
Please do not upload sensitive information unless MoneyFinder has expressly agreed that the relevant feature supports it and you have authority to do so.
3. How we collect information
We collect information directly from users, from customer administrators and authorised users, automatically when the website or service is used, and from service providers acting on our behalf. A customer may upload information about its own clients or contacts.
4. Why we use information
- Provide, administer and support the website, walkthrough process and platform.
- Authenticate users, maintain accounts and communicate service information.
- Store and process customer content according to customer instructions.
- Secure the service, prevent misuse, investigate incidents and enforce our agreements.
- Improve reliability, functionality and user experience using appropriately controlled operational information.
- Meet legal, regulatory, accounting and dispute-resolution obligations.
- Send marketing communications only where permitted, with a way to opt out.
5. Disclosure and service providers
We may disclose personal information to personnel and contractors who need it to perform their duties; advisers and authorities where reasonably necessary or legally required; a buyer or successor in connection with a genuine corporate transaction under suitable confidentiality protections; and providers that help us operate the service.
- Supabase — database, authentication and related backend services.
- Vercel — website and application hosting and delivery.
- SendGrid — transactional email and enquiry notifications.
We do not sell personal information. We require providers to handle information for authorised purposes and apply appropriate safeguards.
6. Overseas handling
Some service providers operate global infrastructure or support functions, which means personal information may be handled outside Australia. The countries involved can vary as providers change their infrastructure and support arrangements. Where Australian privacy law applies, we will take reasonable steps required by that law in relation to overseas disclosures and will provide further information about relevant locations on request.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information and service. These may include access controls, authentication, restricted administrative access, encryption in transit and provider security controls. No internet service is completely secure, and we do not promise absolute security.
8. Retention and deletion
We retain information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, contractual commitments, security, dispute resolution and legal obligations. After a subscription ends, the customer will generally have 30 days to request an export. We then delete or de-identify customer content from active systems when it is no longer reasonably required, subject to legal retention requirements, security needs and the ordinary retention and deletion cycles of our infrastructure providers. Residual copies may remain in backups for a limited period until those backups are overwritten or deleted in accordance with provider processes.
9. Access and correction
A person may ask to access or correct personal information we hold about them by emailing hello@moneyfinder.com.au. We may need to verify identity and may refuse or limit a request where permitted by law. If the information is controlled by a customer firm, we may refer the request to that firm.
10. Complaints
Privacy questions or complaints can be sent to hello@moneyfinder.com.au. Please include enough detail for us to investigate. We will acknowledge and respond within a reasonable period. If the Privacy Act applies and a complaint remains unresolved, the person may be entitled to contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
12. Children
MoneyFinder is a business service and is not directed to children. Users must not intentionally submit information about children unless the customer has a lawful business need, appropriate authority and MoneyFinder has expressly agreed the relevant use.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service or law changes. We will publish the updated version with a new effective date and provide additional notice where a change materially affects how personal information is handled.
